Manchester City certainly haven’t hesitated in adding to their squad in the early stages of the summer transfer window.
Pep Guardiola has been one of the busier managers in the Premier League so far this season and has already acquired Portuguese attacker from Monaco and goalkeeper Ederson from Benfica.
Plenty more incomings are still expected down at the Etihad over the coming months but there’s also the problem of the current players on the books to resolve.
There are dozens of players on the fringes of the first-team squad and when August rolls around, Pep Guardiola needs to make sure he choses the right squad to do as well as they possibly can in the Premier League this time out.
And one man that isn’t expected to be a part of that squad next season is young defender Ashley Smith-Brown, who, according to the MEN, is set to complete a loan switch to Hearts in the coming days.
The youngster spent time on-loan at NAC Brada last season but struggled to get into the first-team squad towards the end of the campaign. A switch to Hearts represents the chance to play a slightly more competitive level of football than he might have experienced in Holland.
The City fans here in the Tavern are certainly excited about his future and this could be another important chapter in his promising-looking career.
