ESPN have managed to get the majority of our punters looking up with knowing faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim Manchester City have opened the bidding for Raheem Sterling.
According to the publication, the former Champions of England have made a £30 million bid for the Liverpool forward and we think that will be laughed out of Anfield, with Liverpool firstly aiming to keep Sterling at the club and if that fails, managing to get a huge sum for someone they consider being one of the best players in the Premier League and someone who could well be one of the best players in the world one day.
We think City will be desperate to land Sterling given he is a homegrown player and someone who has proven they can cut it at the highest level – domestically at least – and we only think the £30 million figure will rise.
Liverpool fans. Do you think the board will accept a bid for Sterling this summer or are City just in dreamland? Let us know your thoughts below.
