It’s that time of the year when football agents take centre stage in the Football Transfer Tavern and another has been having his say about one of his clients today as he looks to engineer a move this summer.
According to Jose Rodgrigo Baster, who represents Galatasaray defensive midfielder Felipe Melo, Manchester City have demonstrated interest about a possible summer swoop.
Melo is currently only on loan at the Turkish side, where has spent two seasons, from Juventus and the two sides are locked in negotiations to bring him to the club on a permanent basis.
Turkish Football reports Baster as saying: “City are interested in Melo, the club have made no secret of this and I am free to inform you about this latest development.
“I love Galatasaray fans, Fatih Terim and the team but the board did the same thing last season.
“Also they had a buy-out clause agreement with Juventus until 30 April 2013.
“I don’t want to be disrespectful but I can’t understand what’s going on and am quite upset about the situation.”
The 29-year-old midfielder has scored 13 times in 71 appearances for the Istanbul side, helping them on their way to the 2012/13 Turkish Super League title.
Will City follow up their interest in the midfielder? Rate this rumour below.
