Manchester City fans have their fingers crossed in the Transfer Tavern after hearing positive reports concerning a long-term target, who could finally be open to a move.
The Mirror states that Manuel Pellegrini will test Real Madrid’s resolve for his former Malaga player Isco, who has conceded he will never be first-choice at the Santiago Bernabeu.
23-year-old Isco worked with Pellegrini as a teenager with Malaga and has been linked with a reunion ever since, though the Spaniard has previously been more than content in the Spanish capital.
The additions of Toni Kroos and Mateo Kovacic in the past two summer’s have increased the competition he faces in the squad and an unfit James Rodriguez was preferred to the Spaniard for Real’s most recent fixture.
Isco is a fan favourite at the club, receiving rapturous applause from the fans after being sent off in the 4-0 defeat in El Clasico this weekend, but the Spaniard is getting increasingly frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities.
The player enters the final two-years of his contract next summer and is seeking first-team assurances before signing a new deal, with City hoping the developments will play into their hands.
City fans, is Isco the ideal signing to replace Yaya Toure? Let us know in the comments below!
