Manchester Evening News have interested the entire Football Transfer Tavern this evening with their claim about Juventus player Paul Pogba who seems to be a target for both Chelsea and Manchester City.
After finally accepting the fact that Yaya Toure may well leave the club this summer, Manchester City and their manager Manuel Pellegrini are keen to eye potential replacements and have identified both Everton’s Ross Barkley and Paul Pogba as the perfect candidates.
As one of our punters notes over a pint, Pogba has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Real Madrid this summer and was even pictured in West London, leading to the inevitable rumours that he might be joining Jose Mourinho’s side.
Pogba would not come cheap and the fact that such high profile and indeed wealthy clubs are keen on him may push the price tag even higher than the £60 million originally mooted.
The fact that Juventus manager Antonio Conte has now resigned also gives credence to the Pogba exit rumours and there may well be a mass exodus at the Serie A giants this summer.
Chelsea fans. How much would you pay to secure the services of Pogba, keeping him out of Manchester City’s clutches in the process? Let us know your thoughts below.
