There is a leaving party happening in the Football Transfer Tavern as the tavern staff say goodbye to one of their longest serving members of the team who is moving onto pastures new.
While the drinks flow, it emerges through ESPN that Manchester City are set to make a summer swoop for Porto duo Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando despite being in trouble with UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
The Citizens tried to sign the pair in January but the deal fell through at the later stages, Now they are apparently preparing to move for the £45 million Porto stars with Manuel Pellegrini looking to significantly improve his squad for the new season.
Pellegrini spent over £100 milliion last year but we can expect to see more activity at the Etihad Stadium according to the recent reports. This is despite the club being told that they are facing a cut in their Champions League squad size while also receiving a heavy fine for spending outside of the regulations.
Our punters are certain that City could do with Mangala but are not so sure about Fernando. Will City land the pair? Let us know your thoughts below.
