It comes after The Mirror reported that the Citizens are interested in Everton and England star Ross Barkley.
But it does not look like Manchester City will be adding to their quota of ‘home grown’ players as they plan to use Jack Rodwell as bait.
Rodwell, who used to play for Everton, is keen on a return to Goodison Park this summer after failing to nail down a place at the Etihad Stadium.
Manchester City face a ‘home grown’ exodus this summer and are set to lose Gareth Barry, Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards, Scott Sinclair and maybe even James Milner.
Rodwell has several Premier League clubs eyeing him including also Sunderland and Newcastle United and wants a move this summer after making just seven league starts since joining City in 2012.
But City feel they may tempt Everton into selling their prized asset Barkley if they throw Rodwell into the deal.
Manchester City fans. Does it worry you that you might fail to bring the quote of ‘home grown’ players to Manchester? Let us know your thoughts below.
