One of the Football Transfer Tavern’s favourite strikers Alvaro Negredo is happy to stay at Sevilla this summer and shun the interest of Manchester City, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Spanish international stiker is set to return for pre-season training this week and has his head in the right place despite heavy interest from Manchester City and Tottenham.
New Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini is keen to replace Carlos Tevez who joined Serie A giants Juventus recently and Andre Villas-Boas knows he needs at least one forward to push Tottenham back into the top four with Christian Benteke also being linked to the White Hart Lane-based outfit.
Negredo was in fine form again in La Liga last season but could cost up to £25 million this summer.
“Right now I’m at Sevilla and I like it very much. If I stay then that will be fine, but if I leave then it will be because it benefits both the club and myself,” Negredo said.
“I’m happy on a personal level but collectively we have not achieved the goals we wanted.
“Now perhaps I am at a decisive moment for my future.”
