Manchester City tried to sign Leeds’ Jack Clarke

Leeds United appear to have a knack of producing talented youngsters through their academy ranks.

The likes of James Milner, Alan Smith, Aaron Lennon and Fabian Delph have all gone to achieve success having graduated through the ranks.

The Whites have always looked to use their younger talents when possible and Marcelo Bielsa appears to have adopted that mantra as well.

Jack Clarke was the latest man to make his first-team bow for the Championship club when he came on against Brentford in their last fixture.

However, according to a report by The Daily Mirror, it appears he had the chance to head somewhere else before committing his future to the Elland Road outfit.

It is understood that he turned down interest from Manchester City, revealing that he was very happy to be at Leeds.

The Verdict:

The Leeds fans will surely be delighted that one of their brightest prospects has decided to commit his future to the club and remain at Elland Road.

It says a lot about what the club are currently doing, especially seeing as they managed to keep hold of him, despite interest from the Premier League champions.

Clarke has a lot of promise and will be looking to build on making his debut for the club prior to the international break and has the ideal opportunity to do so with the number of injuries that Bielsa’s side currently have.
