Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t a happy bunch after a poor season under Pep Guardiola but they’re not giving up hope of securing Champions League football at the end of the campaign!
The Citizens still have a lot of work to do if they’re to secure a top-four finish come the end of the campaign and there’s little doubt they might have had a better campaign if they had someone like Paulo leading the line upfront.
And according to the Mirror, they had the chance to bring the Argentinian to the Etihad two years ago, with club chiefs instead opting to bring Swansea forward Wilfried Bony to Manchester instead.
It’s a move that hasn’t worked out for the Ivorian, who now finds himself struggling to get a game a Stoke City, having signed for close to £28million.
Dybala meanwhile has gone from strength the strength in Italy, destroying Barcelona in the week as Juventus took a 3 goal advantage in their Champions League quarter-final.
And with Dybala’s price tag only rising, even our barman here in the pub reckons the Argentine striker might be out of reach after his unbelievable form.
City fans- what do you make of Pellegrini’s decision to move for Bony rather than Dybala? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
