Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been placed firmly at the top of Pep Guardiola’s summer transfer list, as he looks to assemble a Manchester City squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title.
According to a report in The Sun, the England midfielder has been placed right at the top of the new boss’ list of targets with a firm desire towards signing more English talent, with Fabian Delph, Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling currently the only home-grown players in the squad.
The Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t exactly jumping for joy at the prospect of Wilshere signing for their club, with huge doubts over his ability to stay injury free for any period of time.
It is unsure at this stage whether Arsenal would consider selling the 24-year-old but the club must be running out of patience with the injury prone England international, who has two years left on his current contract.
One Manchester City fan is sat chatting to the landlord and he thinks that Wilshere would be a good, albeit risky signing, stating that he would probably only be used as a backup player in the squad anyway.
Manchester City fans, would you welcome the arrival of Wilshere? Can he stay free from injury?
