Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are weighing up their options after they learned in the Sunday Mirror that they would have to fork out £45m for Wolfsburg star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne.
The former Chelsea man has gone on to prove himself in the Bundesliga after failing to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.
The German club are entitled to charge a huge fee for the playmaker as he is currently contracted at the Wolfsburg Arena until 2020.
De Bruyne is seemingly happy in Germany and is content to stay at Wolfsburg for another season as their successful campaign is expected to rewarded with a place in the Champions League.
The Belgian is now the main man at Wolfsburg but the Citizens are keen to give him an opportunity to prove himself to the Blues.
City are expected to compete with Paris Saint-Germain for his signature as the Ligue 1 club are also admirers of the midfielder.
