Manchester City have propelled themselves right back into the title picture this past week, with a key win at Everton and Liverpool dropping points to help their cause.

Pep Guardiola's men have been putting in the correct sort of performances when it matters, and this can often separate the best when it comes to winning the top prizes like the Premier League title.

However, there is some room in the City squad this summer for a bit of improvement, and we here in the Tavern wouldn't be surprised to see 'Pep' make his move to add some more depth and quality to his squad going into the next campaign.

And one man we here in the Tavern feel would be a superb addition in the middle of the park is Napoli midfielder Allan, who has been in brilliant form for the Italian side this term.

The Brazilian is very much in the mould of a Fernandinho type player, and with the current City man getting into his 30s now, Guardiola will no doubt be conscious of replacing one of his most reliable and consistent performers.

Allan would fill the void perfectly. Strong in the tackle, but equally excellent with the ball at his feet and able to dictate play, the Napoli star would make the perfect signing for City as they look to continue their dominance of the English game.

While he will cost a fair fortune, it shouldn't be an issue for City, and if he does come in the doors at the Etihad, it would be a shrewd move by the club.

City fans, what do you think? Would Allan be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
