£25.2m-rated pass master could be Man City’s long-term Toure replacement – Agreed?

Citizens fans within the Tavern are already looking ahead to next season having all-but wrapped up the Premier League title this year. It’s certain to say that more money will again be spent to make improvements and additions to the side as Man City are hopeful of dominating the league for years to come.

Premier League teams have been alerted ever since Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos insisted that the 26-year-old has the characteristics to play in the Premier League. Italian Jorginho, valued at £25.20 million on Transfermarkt, does seem to be an ideal signing at the Etihad with Yaya Toure and Fernandinho reaching the end of their footballing careers. The 26-year-old has played a massive part in Napoli’s league form this season and in all competitions has scored four goals and created four for his team-mates as well.

The instrumental midfielder runs more than most other players per game and would be a welcomed fresh pair of legs to replace the now-sluggish Yaya Toure. If Jorginho turned out to be anywhere near the servant Toure has been for the league leaders, then this has to be a deal worth pursuing for Manchester City, with Toure playing in well over 200 games since his 2010 arrival.

The Italian has recently surpassed his potential as he now finds himself as one of Napoli’s most important players but securing a dream move to the Premier League and to leaders Man City is very desirable for any player.

Landlords verdict:

It seems inevitable finally this summer that Yaya Toure will leave the club after eight years and rightly so in my opinion. It’s time to freshen the midfield options up at Man City and replacing the slow Toure with an energetic Italian seems like an ideal decision for Man City to come to.
