Another day, another Alexis Sanchez update, and it’s safe to say this one from Directv Sports in the player’s Chilean homeland is an interesting one as they claim the attacker has his heart set on a move to Manchester City this summer,
The 28-year-old’s future has been debated heavily of late as his contract stand-off with Arsenal drags on leaving him just a few months away from the last year of his deal in north London.
Given that players’ valuations tumble in this period, Arsenal may be forced to sell and Directv Sports claim that Man City boss Pep Guardiola, who signed the player from Udinese in 2011 when he was manager of Barcelona, has been in contact with him to persuade him to relocate to the Etihad Stadium.
And it seems the desired effect has been achieved, with Sanchez desperate to head to Manchester, with a salary of around £200,000-per-week having helped to turn his head.
However, Arsenal are reluctant to sell to a divisional rival, which could scupper Man City and Sanchez’s plans for at least 12 months, or inflate his valuation.
El Mercurio, also an outlet from Chile, have reported this week that Sanchez is frustrated with the Gunners’ lack of ambition in the transfer market and has a poor relationship with his team-mates, both of which are factors in him wanting out.
Alexis Sanchez should spend one more season at Arsenal – agree?
