Guardiola’s side sit comfortably at the summit of the League table, 5 points clear of Manchester United who were able to keep pace with their fierce rivals with a narrow victory at home to Tottenham on Saturday.
Every player Guardiola has called upon to perform for the club this season has made a positive impact on proceedings and the list of superlatives that have been attributed to the first-team squad appear infinite right now.
But it is City academy prospect Phil Foden who has caught the attention of the City faithful in recent days, after his headline-making performance in the U17 World Cup final inspired the England youngsters to a 5-2 victory over Spain in India.
Guardiola was full of praise for Foden in a recent interview, in which he gave strong indications about the youngsters future at the club.
The fact that Foden is already training with the first-team on a daily basis heavily implies that Guardiola is preparing the World Cup Golden Ball winner for a role in the first-team set up within the next two seasons.
