Manchester City

Big reported demands par for the course as Man City look to ensure success – Agreed?

Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern continue to grow in disbelief as the amount of money being pumped into football continues to rise. Though it’s been key to their recent success, the type of sums bandied about really do boggle the mind

City have enjoyed a perfect start to the season as they find themselves sitting comfortably at the summit of the table. After an emphatic 7-2 win last time out against Stoke City it looks as if this City side really do mean business this season.

Pep seems to have the players in fine spirits and playing the Guardiola way as the fast intricate passing style has got calls of ‘It’s like watchingBrazil’ filtering from the stands. The going’s just as good in the Champions League after taking the maximum amount of points at the midway point, it looks as if the Manchester side could possibly be on for a European and domestic double.

One man who’s been at the forefront of their success is Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne, the forward-thinking player has been world class this season for club and country as he looks to impose himself as one of the best on the planet. Having scored 2 goals and assisted 7 already this season it looks as if this man will have a massive part to play in the club’s success.

The PFA Player of the Year favourite will surely not only up for this award but has also been shortlisted for the Ballon d’Or as many fans feel he has a chance of becoming the world’s best over the next few years.

A players’ wage has always been something that seems to secure an infinite rise and after recent reports of De Bruyne’s agent trying to secure the Belgian a new £500k a week contract. If this is to go ahead it would make him the joint second highest paid player in world football as he joins Messi and Neymar on the sum.

For a player who is very happy at City, it is yet to be seen as to whether this is the greed of the agent or coming from De Bruyne himself.

So City fans, is De Bruyne worth a potential new £500k a week wage?
