The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Mirror that’s linked the club will a move for Atlético Paranaense star defender, Lucas Halter. The Brazilian defender is just 17-years-old but could become the latest South American added to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side.

The Manchester club already boasts the likes of Sergio Aguero, Fernandinho, Nicolas Otamendi, Danilo and Claudio Bravo who all hail from South America which would make life for Halter much easier if he was to swap Curitiba for Manchester this summer. The centre-back would also benefit from playing under Guardiola at such a young age. The Spaniard has developed a reputation for turning rough diamonds into some of the world’s best players.
The links to Halter come as Guardiola is reportedly looking for a versatile defender, a defensive midfielder and a winger. The Citizens have long been linked with a move for Leicester winger, Riyad Mahrez and Napoli midfielder, Jorginho. If the club was to sign the two experienced pros, they would only need to bring in a defender to meet the criteria set by Guardiola and if Halter was to come in as an unheard of 17-year-old, it’s unlikely that the Sky Blues would be made to pay a massive fee for his services.
