‘Bring on Barcelona’ – Manchester City fans react on Twitter as domination continues

Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been congratulating their U19 team who overcame Liverpool U19s on penalties in the UEFA Youth League quarterfinals yesterday. Goalkeeper, Daniel Grimshaw was the hero for the young Citizens as he kept out three penalties in the shootout to put his side in the next round of the competition.

Manchester City fans have got it all going their way at the moment. The Sky Blues find their first team sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League, breaking record after record as they canter towards the title. Meanwhile, Manchester City’s U19 side is also performing on the big stage as they find themselves in the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League having beaten both Internazionale and now Liverpool 3-2 on penalties after 1-1 draws.

The big step for the young Citizens now is to advance past Barcelona in the semi-finals. Barcelona won the first instalment of the competition back in the 2013/14 season. City fans will already be proud of their U19s, having come further in the competition than ever before, although they’ll now have their eyes on the ultimate prize as they travel Switzerland’s Colovray stadium to face Barcelona.
