Tuttomercatoweb.com has reported that Man City are interested in the former World Player of the Year and are willing to meet the Brazilian’s €7.5million p/y wage demands.
Ronaldinho has been at the centre of numerous rumours transfer rumours as his time at the San Siro appears to be coming to an end. The Brazilian is out of contract in July and his disappointing Serie A performances put him in the running for the Bidone d’Oro (Golden Dustbin), an award which is given out to the worst players in Italy.
Palmeiras have been strongly linked to the former World Cup winner, but are said to be struggling to meet his large wage demands. However, a move back to his native Brazil would probably be better for ‘dinho as the Brazilian may look to settle down as he approaches retirement.
The 30-year-old has struggled to re-find his ability since the 2006 World Cup, in which he was criticised for his below-par displays. It was strongly rumoured that the forward had become disillusioned with football and spent vast amounts of time drinking and partying. His dip in form saw the Brazilian eventually leave the Nou Camp for the San Siro, where he now rarely makes the starting XI.
Is it one of those form is temporary things though? It’s been a while since we saw the best of the talismanic forward. Despite Milan fans disappointment at the performances of the former PSG man, he did manage to finish last season with the highest number of assists in Serie A as well as contributing 12 goals in the process. They aren’t bad figures for a player that is out-of-favour.
Ronaldinho will be available in January at a snip of the €22.5million paid by AC to Barca back in 2008. City may have enough funds to pay the forward, but it’s such a vast amount of money to risk on an ageing bench-warmer. I’d expect to see ‘dinho back in Brazil by the summer at least, or you never know, over at LA Galaxy or in Qatar, or anywhere with money to seemingly burn.

Do you remember Ronaldinho’s ex-missus who had him up all night in the 2006 World Cup? I could hardly forget Alexandra Paressant, mainly because she looked like this!
