Ex-Guardiola star tips Man City manager to consider move for talented international

Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are already getting excited about the summer and, as quoted by The Belfast Telegraph, Xavi thinks it could be a good one.

The Citizens will have to go some now to catch Chelsea up in the Premier League title race but many here by the bar think with the right acquisitions in the next market the league crown will soon be theirs.

And according to one of Pep Guardiola’s greatest former players, Jack Wilshere could be on his shopping list.

Wilshere has been at Bournemouth on loan from Arsenal this season and it remains to be seen if the Gunners decide to keep him on or let him go for good.

If they do decide the latter there’ll surely be plenty of interest, and the Catalan could be part of that particular queue.

Xavi said:

“Technically he is the sort of player that Pep loves – his only problem has been injuries – and if it wasn’t for injuries I am sure he would be one of the best midfield players in the world.

“If there is a chance to sign him in the summer, I am sure Pep will give it real consideration.”

Our local Arsenal fans could really do without this at the moment given how poorly they played last night but it appears that the bad news is going to just keep on coming.

Wilshere could have a decision to make, then, and our landlord wouldn’t be surprised to see him move to City.
