Guardiola agrees deal as Man City close in on South American

The Manchester City fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports the club have made a move for a new goalkeeper.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Premier League side have had a bid of £4m accepted by Deportivo Maldonado for goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

The 24-year old has spent the last two seasons on loan in Spain with La Liga side Real Sociedad and Pep Guardiola sees him as one for the future for the club.

The Spanish outfit are reportedly hopeful that once the player signs for City that they will be able to sign the impressive shot stopper on a season long loan for the third season in a row.

Pep Guardiola is keen to bring competition for current number one Joe Hart after the England international failed to cover himself in glory with two high profile mistakes at EURO 2016 making the Spaniard wary of the club’s Number One.

The 29-year old has been linked with a sensational move across the North West, with Everton thought to be eyeing a £40m move.

Should Hart be worried about his future under Guardiola? Let us know your thoughts below….
