According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Manchester City are interested in signing Andre Silva from FC Porto as our Citizens here in the Transfer Tavern begin to hope he is Pep Guardiola’s next big thing.
The Catalan boss has had a knack of turning good players into great ones over the years and even in the few months he’s been at the Etihad, we’ve seen the likes of Raheem Sterling come on leaps and bounds under his stewardship.
The hope will be, then, that young Silva can follow suit under the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss and with a reported release fee of 60 million euros there’s no reason why City couldn’t get the deal over the line.
A wonderfully lethal striker, the 21-year-old has been in fine fettle this season, notching 10 goals in just 17 games across all competitions.
