Guardiola closes in on £50m England star as Man City defender nears exit

Pep Guardiola is hard at work with his new Manchester City side, much to the delight of the City slickers in the Transfer Tavern.

As the Spaniard prepares to thrill the Premier League with his trademark brand of football, much of the attention has naturally centred around his potential recruits.

So, the Etihad goers are dancing on the pool tables following reports from the Sun that the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona coach is closing in on a £50m move for John Stones.

The England international has long been linked with a huge move from Everton and his reportedly imminent arrival in Manchester could serve as further good news.

The same report claims that the 22-year old could force £40m flop Eliaquim Mangala out of the Sky Blues, with Valencia thought to be keen on the Frenchman.

Since joining from Porto in 2013, the Les Blues ace has struggled for consistency under Manuel Pellegrini and is thought to have blocked a move to the La Liga giants last summer.

However, super agent Jorge Mendes is believed to be aiming to move his clinet across to Los Che.

Will Guardiola help Stones realise his potential? Surely £50m is far, far too much?! Let us know below….
