City fans have been expressing their disappointment in the bar at the Football Transfer Tavern today as news has made it’s way through the doors here that Pep Guardiola will no longer be pursuing this Barcelona man.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, the City boss has decided to end the club’s interest in Barcelona shot stopper, Claudio Bravo.
The Sky Blues had been linked with a move for Barca teammate Marc-Andre Ter Stegen however the Catalan giants said the only keeper they would be willing to part company with was Bravo.
The 30-year-old, however, does not posses the same traits that the former Bayern Munich boss was looking for in Ter Stegen. Whilst still being a top shot stopper, the Chilean international is not as capable with the ball at his feet, something the new boss at the Etihad sees as vital.
A cluster of City fans sharing some bar snacks here this evening are concerned that after a woeful summer the club may need an upgrade on England’s Joe Hart.
However, our ever omniscient Landlord pointed out to the fans that the club already have a deal in place to bring Real Sociedad’s, Geronimo Rulli to Manchester – despite the fact he may be sent back out on loan.
City fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think Bravo would have been a good addition to the side? Does Joe Hart really need replacing? Let us know below…
