A group of Man City fans trying to find Blue Moon on the jukebox in the Football Transfer Tavern are welcoming news from Manchester regarding the future of one of their true legends of recent years.
It appears that, despite strong beliefs that the star was leaving, Guardiola has decided that there is a place in his squad for club legend, Yaya Toure.
According to reports on Sport English, the 33-year-old, who looked destined for an exit this summer, is once again training with his City teammates and, along with French midfielder Samir Nasri, is partaking in double training sessions in order to convince the new boss that he is deserving of a place in his squad.
In the wake of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss’ appointment, Toure’s agent told the Sunday Mirror: “Pep is a great coach. But he has won the title at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
“The truth is that my grandfather would win the title with Barcelona and Bayern Munich because they are big clubs with great players.”
Those comments in January seemed to make the midfielder’s future clear, however now it seems that he has a role to play at the Etihad.
During his time in Manchester the Ivory Coast international has amassed quite the trophy collection, with two Premier League titles, and FA Cup, two League Cups and four African Player of the Year Award’s to boot.
City fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of Pep’s decision to give Toure the chance to impress him? Let us know below…
