Guardiola has made his presence felt in Manchester and the City fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern had more good news today as the club confirmed the capture of John Stones.
The signing of John Stones from Everton was Guardiola’s eighth addition of this summer window which, according to reports from the Daily Mail, means it is time for him to trim down his squad and clear out those he deems surplus to requirement.
The arrival of the England defender means that top of the Spaniards unwanted list is Eliaquim Mangala, who will find a first team spot extremely difficult to come by at The Eithad.
Alongside the Frenchman, his compatriot Samir Nasri as well as Wilfred Bony and Spaniard, Jesus Navas are seemingly not in Guardiola’s plans for the forthcoming season.
Former Arsenal man, Nasri, probably the most prominent name on the list, was marked out by his new manager as a ‘little overweight’ upon his return from the summer break.
City fans, we want to hear from you! What do you make of Pep’s decision? Who else needs to be cut from the squad this summer? Let us know in the comments below…
