Man City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have spent the day ridiculing their bitter rivals, Man United, as news has made it’s way to the bar that the Sky Blues have beaten Mourinho’s side to the signing of a promising South American youngster.
Reports from Portuguese newspaper, O Jogo (via Sports Witness), are claiming that Man City have agreed a deal to bring 19-year-old forward, Marlos Moreno, to the club this summer.
According to O Jogo, the powers that be at the Etihad have agreed a €9m deal with Columbian club, Atletico Nacional for the striker, ahead of their local rivals, Man United.
Along with Mourinho, it has been reported that there was also interest from Inter Milan and Premier League rivals, Liverpool.
According to Sports Witness, once the deal is finalised, Guardiola will look to send the Columbian international out on loan for the coming season, with Spain being his preferred destination.
Our Landlord was quick to point out that although the Red Devils may have missed out on this signing, they also have another South American starlet on their radar, with Hirving Lozano having been linked in recent weeks.
