The Manchester City fans have been reacting to a story broken by Stuart Brennan in the Manchester Evening News that Pep Guardiola has given up on signing the Real Madrid ace in the summer as he looks to other targets. Speculation surrounding the Spaniard had grown over the last few weeks as it was rumoured that City were preparing a £75 million bid for the playmaker.

Whilst the City fans propping our bar up will no doubt be disappointed that the move will not happen, they’ll be eager to know that the club still has other targets in mind. In January Riyad Mahrez almost signed for the club before a move fell through at the last minute on transfer deadline day. Alexis Sanchez was another of the club’s targets and many touted him to join the Citizens in January before United registered a late interest and signed him in a straight swap deal for Armenian ace, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Isco rumours have been fuelled by the 25-year-old’s recent comments where he spoke about his discontent with Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane. The rumour mill started spinning further when it was reported that City were offering to double Isco’s wages should he swap Madrid for Manchester in the summer, although the Manchester City hierarchy have categorically said that the former Malaga man will not be on his way to The Etihad anytime soon as Pep Guardiola has other targets in his mind.
