Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been confidently responding to the news that Pep Guardiola is considered the ‘dream option’ on PSG’s five-man shortlist for managers they want to see replace Unai Emery.
Pep Guardiola is on PSG's five-man shortlist to replace Unai Emery, but is considered the 'dream' option because he is happy in Manchester. Mauricio Pochettino or Luis Enrique are more serious options. [RMC Sport]

Unai Emery assured himself a P45 form will be around the corner at the end of the season as he failed to overcome Real Madrid in the first of this season’s Champions League knockout stages. The Parisian club lost 3-1 in Madrid and 2-1 at the Parc des Princes, bowing out 5-2 on aggregate to the reigning European Champions. With Emery almost guaranteed to leave the club, the PSG hierarchy will be looking ahead to who they want to lead the club into the 2018/19 season.
The French Ligue 1’s runaway leaders have supposedly earmarked Guardiola as one of five managers who could take charge of the club, although (according to RMC Sport) Mauricio Pochettino and Luis Enrique are being treated as more serious options. The news of PSG wanting Guardiola will come as no surprise to the Citizens as they’ve seen their club achieve new heights, smashing Premier League record after record with their classy brand of football.
With that in mind, here’s our resident Sky Blues’ verdict:
