Man City fans in for an early breakfast here at the Football Transfer Tavern are unsure where to look at the moment as they may have just landed one of the biggest deals of the summer, they’re just not sure.
Man City are preparing to face Steaua Bucharest in the Play-Off round of the Champions League and as such, ahead of that fixture will have submitted a select squad to UEFA.
Whilst they are preparing for the new season, there is still business to be done, and the Sky Blues have been linked with a record breaking £50m move for Everton’s John Stones.
This is where it gets interesting, whether this be a blunder on the part of those at the Etihad or UEFA we are not sure but amongst the official Man City Champions League squad list, is the name John Stones.
And, at the time of writing, his name is still there but just in case that changes we have taken a copy and slapped it up on the notice board in the bar.
Should the name of the current (we’ve checked, he’s in their squad too) Toffees defender stay put then our Landlord is sure that all that can mean is that Guardiola is confident the deal will be done before the game next week.
City fans, we want to hear from you! Does this mean that the deal is done? How good a signing would Stones be? Let us know below…
