Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing what Pep Guardiola does for them in the transfer window this summer.
The Citizens have been going well this season under their former Barcelona manager but things could have been better if they’d managed to defend a bit more stoutly at times.
Indeed, John Stones has certainly not lived up to his price tag whilst those around him have been poor, too, so defensive acquisitions are needed.
The latest story, though, concerns a potential attacking one – Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean has been referred to as a Man City target by the likes of The Express but, according to The London Evening Standard, he has been offered a new deal by Arsenal – potentially wrecking any transfer move.
Guardiola, then, was asked about the story in his press conference earlier today but he was quick to try and stop any talk by replying simply:
“Now is not the time to talk about that.”
Pretty coy from Pep, then, and it remains to be seen if he decides to take action or not.
