Man City agree deal for prolific frontman

The Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are delighted with this one…

The atmosphere in the Transfer Tavern has been absolutely electric this week – and much of that is down to the sizeable contingent of Manchester City fans in attendance.

The Citizens in the Tavern are still celebrating their magnificent start to the season, added to this week by a pair of dominant victories against Borussia Monchengladbach and rivals Manchester United.

They have been dancing on the pool tables all week, and after hearing this next piece of breaking City-related news – they might want to order themselves another celebratory drink…

According to a source close to ESPN, star striker Sergio Aguero has agreed a new one-year extension to his Man City contract, which will see him remain with the club until 2020 at the earliest.

Interestingly, the source has added that a deal was made, in principle, last January – but they do not clarify the reasoning for the hold-up.

The news produced a sizeable roar amongst the Blue corner of the Tavern, with one Manchester City fan touting it as the signing of the year so far.

The club have made a glorious start to the Premier League season and currently sit atop the Premier League with a 100% winning record after their rivals floundered over the weekend.

Our landlord thinks that Sergio Aguero has been a huge part of that, having already bagged 3 goals in 3 Premier League appearances so far.

The Man City faithful love the Argentine forward – and they are delighted that he is set to continue his spell at the Etihad.

They’ll be hoping for more of this in the years to come…

Whilst there has been no announcement as of yet, our landlord expects the news to be confirmed shortly.
