Man City boss keen to extend stay at club

Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating whether the right call is being made by their club, amidst the morning reports.

The Sun says Pep Guardiola is keen to extend his contract at the Etihad Stadium and sign a new five-year deal, as the Calatan boss remains intent on completing his revolution in Manchester.

Guardiola has struggled to adapt to the Premier League in his debut season and the Citizens currently find themselves out of the top-four, with summer recruits Claudio Bravo and John Stones amongst those failing to impress.

That has led many to question Guardiola’s suitability to the side in the long-term, despite the fact he’s just months into his tenure, but the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich will retain the confidence of the club’s board.

City are likely to splash out again in the summer window and a longer spell for Guardiola would help them achieve their goals, although our landlord has pointed out the boss never usually spends more than three seasons at one club.

The Citizens here in the Tavern think that Guardiola is here to stay for a long time, and would love to see City secure a new deal for the Spaniard.
