Manchester City will once again be thinking that winning the Premier League title is realistic after a vital win over leaders Liverpool.
Pep Guardiola and his side earned a magnificent three points with victory over the Reds on Thursday night, closing the gap at the top to four points.
Manchester City looked fired up from the start and inflicted Liverpool’s first loss in the league this season.
That same form must continue though if Man City are to continue hassling Liverpool and the best way for them to do that is by strengthening during the transfer window.
On paper, it’s hard to improve Manchester City’s team apart from one position – left-back.
Fabian Delph and Oleksandr Zinchenko have been tried and tested in that position amid Benjamin Mendy’s absence but neither have been convincing.
City aren’t a team scared of spending and should hence pursue Valencia’s Jose Gaya to fill that position.
Gaya, (who is valued at £36 million on Transfermarkt) would no doubt be a brilliant addition for Manchester City, strengthening an area where they have been particularly weak this season.
With Benjamin Mendy out for a while, City could find that Jose Gaya is not only a player who can come straight in and play but one that could hold down the position upon Mendy’s return as well.
He has already made 21 appearances for the Spanish outfit this season, which further presents what a vital player he is for their team.
The 23-year-old can also play further forward as a winger, leaving City with multiple options of how best to utilise him.
Would Jose Gaya be a title-winning signing… Let us know!
