Manchester City: Fans bemoan injury to Fernandinho

After Fernandinho was forced to leave the pitch during Manchester City’s 3-1 Champions League win over Porto, many Sky Blues have been lamenting the prospect of another serious injury, with Pep Guardiola since confirming the 35-year-old could be out for a ‘long time‘.
The Brazilian, who played the majority of last season at centre-back, played a crucial role during City’s 2018/19 domestic quadruple-winning campaign.
Guardiola introduced Fernandinho to replace Rodri during the final quarter of the match last night, but with just five minutes remaining, he was forced off due to injury.
After the encounter, City’s manager claimed the Brazilian could be facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines, adding to the club’s already extensive list of absentees with Aymeric Laporte, Kevin De Bruyne, Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus all still unavailable.
Not quite believing their side’s luck, many City supporters have flocked to Twitter in reaction to the ‘really bad news‘ – you can find some of their verdicts below:
