The City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story from ESPN FC that claim their club may have to face disciplinary action after flares were thrown onto the pitch following the 3-2 loss to Manchester United at The Etihad on Saturday evening. Pep Guardiola’s side had the chance to wrap up the title with a win over United but lost 3-2 after being 2-0 up at half-time.

The news is unlikely to go down well with the City fans who are still hurting from their loss in the Manchester derby. However, they’ll have to put it behind them fast as they gear up to face Liverpool tonight in their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Jurgen Klopp’s side. Manchester City have been a winning machine this season and have surprised a number of fans this week as they fell to two defeats in a matter of days against Liverpool and Manchester United.
Guardiola will want to bounce back and have a sharp reply as he hopes to overcome a three-goal deficit against Liverpool tonight before going to Wembley next Saturday where he’ll be looking to overcome Tottenham and finally have his side crowned Premier League champions. The Spaniard suffered his first season in management without a trophy last season and looks to quickly rectify that as he’s already claimed the League Cup and is inches away from the Premier League, advancing in Europe would also give the fans real hope that they can win their first Champions League title in their history.

Since when in football were regulations fair in a workplace if you don't do your job your fired for not complying to regulations surely if refs are demonstrating a campaign to support them they must do their job properly otherwise they should face significant punishment
