Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a transfer update from Guillem Balague concerning the futures of goalkeeping duo Claudio Bravo and Zack Steffen.
Addressing potential transfer activity at the Etihad Stadium in a Q&A on his YouTube channel, the Spanish football expert said that the Chile veteran wants to extend his stay in Manchester for another three years but City’s preference is for performance-related one-year deals.
Should Bravo and the club fail to agree on the matter, Steffen could then be brought back as understudy to first choice ‘keeper Ederson, with the transfer update shared on Twitter by @City_Chief.
"Bravo hasn't been able to reach an agreement with City he wants 3 more years City would be happier to offer a contract every season depending on his performances.
If there is no agreement then the plan is to have Zack Steffen as second choice" pic.twitter.com/ANOlSkKfRw

USA international Steffen was signed by Manchester City last summer but instantly dispatched on loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf for the 2019/20 season. The 25-year-old has made 18 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, conceding 36 goals and keeping two clean sheets (as per TransferMarkt).
Bravo, who was signed by Pep Guardiola back in 2016, is now 37 and made only 30 appearances over the last three seasons, as many as in his first year at the Etihad alone (as per TransferMarkt). Several iffy displays in the 2016/17 campaign saw him regarded in some quarters as one of the worst Premier League signings that year.
These Manchester City fans on Twitter feel that it’s time for Bravo to move on and Steffen to get his chance at the club:
Just let Bravo go.
He is responsible for more of my heartaches😁 https://t.co/xA3sBgSDVW

Let him go – apart from pen shootouts have always felt very uneasy when he plays. This dates back to dropping ball in derby leading to a goal. Worst goalie at City in my 54 years watching City
