Plenty of Manchester City fans have reacted to reports suggesting that another Premier League club is interested in signing John Stones, with many hopeful that such a transfer will materialise.
The Telegraph‘s Matt Law reported that Rafael Benitez wants to return to Newcastle under their prospective new Saudi owners and would like to bring the 25-year-old defender to St James’ Park if he gets back on board with the Tyneside outfit. The story was later shared on Twitter by @City_Xtra.
Rafael Benítez is keen to make a return to Newcastle United under a new Saudi Arabian-backed ownership with #ManCity defender John Stones among the players the Spaniard would like to take with him.

Stones, a £47.5m signing from Everton in 2016, was the subject of plentiful criticism in his first season at the Etihad Stadium after some questionable displays, and the 2019/20 campaign has at times been another frustrating one for the England international.
He has missed 13 games this term through various injuries, having had several spells out injured in his time at the club, and his error led to Aston Villa’s goal in a hard-fought Carabao Cup final triumph in March. Among WhoScored‘s overall average match ratings for the 2019/20 season, he is 17th out of 22 players in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Is John Stones good enough to play for Manchester City?
These Manchester City fans on Twitter would be glad to see the back of Stones amid reports of potential interest from Newcastle:
