Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are raising their glasses in approval to the latest news they’ve heard, which suggests an underperforming first-team member will be axed.
The Daily Mail states Manchester City will look for a new goalkeeper at the end of the season, with summer-signing Claudio Bravo failing to impress in the first-half of his debut season in English football.
Two-time Copa America winner Bravo has been under the microscope for the entire season, after Pep Guardiola elected to oust Joe Hart from the club and bring in a new first-choice stopper, but things haven’t gone to plan.
At the weekend, Bravo conceded all four of the shots he faced against Everton as the Toffees stormed to a 4-0 victory at Goodison Park, a result that leaves the Citizens ten points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.
Despite spending more money than anyone else in the summer window, Manchester City are struggling this season and Guardiola will look to fix their issues with his bolstering transfer budget at the end of the current campaign.
Our landlord feels this move makes sense but argues that Bravo isn’t as bad as everybody makes out, as he feels the defence in front of him should be doing better.
