While this season has proved to be somewhat of a mixed bag for the Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern, the fact recent results looked to have picked up somewhat has seriously impressed the punters propping up the bar.
Pep Guardiola’s philosophy is finally coming to fruition at the Etihad it seems, though reports from the Daily Mail have caused concern amongst the Sky Blues at the bar. They claim, despite the ridiculously lavish academy system in play with the club, there is growing interest from Premier League rivals in one of their most promising talents.
According to their report, both Manchester United and Arsenal are keen on making a move for academy prospect Ed Francis, who is thought to have mightily impressed for their youth sides, operating as a left sided defender. Still, interestingly enough, they also suggest City are close to sealing a three-year agreement with the 17-year-old this summer.
While not many of our punters can claim to have watched the talented teen in action, they are delighted the fact a promising defender is reportedly in line for a deal has proved exciting, considering their problems in that area.
