Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are intrigued to see just what their season could hold this year with them one of the favourites for the title.
Pep Guardiola has spent big once again this summer with the likes of Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy arriving and many are now thinking that the club could seriously go for the league crown.
For sure, it’ll be a tough campaign – as proven by their draw with Everton yesterday – but there can be no doubt that they’ll feel confident in achieving silverware this year.
One man who will not be playing this season for City – or indeed any other by the looks of it – is Samir Nasri who has left the club permanently for Turkish side Antalyaspor.
Indeed, the news was confirmed on the official City website with it looking likely that the Frenchman was going to leave for some time.
Certainly, he didn’t appear in Pep Guardiola’s plans and so it makes a lot of sense that he can start anew somewhere else in the game.
Nasri was a top player on his day but in recent seasons he had fewer and fewer such days for City and Sevilla – where he was on loan last season.
For sure, then, it made sense to let him go in this window and now it remains to be seen if the club looks to try and bring in another option.
