Our Manchester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are gearing up for a huge FA Cup clash with Arsenal this weekend.
The Citizens have done fairly well this season but would surely have been expecting to be in the Premier League title race at this point in the season.
Instead, though, it’s their defence that has let them down and so they’ll be keen to at least win the FA Cup to mark this season as a success.
In the summer, though, we should expect defensive acquisitions but things might not come cheaply for the men from the Etihad.
Certainly, if The Telegraph is to be believed, the Sky Blues will have to pay up a lot of money for Juventus man Leonardo Bonucci.
The Turin club apparently value their superb defender at a cool £50 million and that would certainly represent a big outlay – even for a club of City’s wealth.
Even so, Bonucci is a top class defender and would surely fix the leakiness of City’s defence for once and for all.
