It’s exciting times to be a Manchester City fan at the moment, nobody needs telling that. Pep Guardiola’s men are still on track for an unprecedented quadruple, but their involvement in the FA Cup could actually ruin their chances of the Premier League title.

City’s away tie against Swansea on Saturday will test the Blues, but you’d fancy them to come out comfortable winners. It’s the impact of the game being played when Liverpool are playing in the Premier League that's the most damaging prospect in the bigger picture of the club’s season.

With Liverpool facing relegation-bound Fulham on Sunday too, they will most likely pick up three points and go two points clear at the top of the table having played one game more. That game in hand is Guardiola's visit to Old Trafford to play United four games from the end of the season.

What. A. Game.

That will mean that, even if City continue to win all their games until that day, they could be playing catch up. In a couple of weeks when Liverpool face Spurs on the Saturday and City face Cardiff on the Sunday, Liverpool could go five points in front, of course having played two more at the time.

As they say, points on the board are better than games in hand, and the pressure will be on City as the chasers to ensure they don’t slip up. This, added to their Champions League fixtures might just be too much for even City’s squad to handle. It all seems very rosy at the Etihad at the moment, but things can turn sour in an instant.

The pressure of chasing the leaders could be back on City, and this will be the time when they prove just how mentally strong their squad is.

It’s going to be a tough next few months, so can City’s experience of title-chasing pressure hold out?
