After La Liga president Javier Tebas announced his resignation from the role, with sly comments made about Manchester City in the past, supporters have been quick to celebrate the Spaniard’s exit and champion their chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak.
The two senior figureheads went into a war of words over the club’s validity and prestige on the footballing stage, with Tebas hinting last summer that City are a ‘danger to football’, as per the Manchester Evening News.
In response, speaking in an exclusive interview with Manchester City’s official channel, chairman Khaldoon fired back with a jibe of his own, explaining how Tebas should look back at the history of La Liga and the ‘distortion’ that has happened through the ages.
As a result of the Spaniard’s exit from the role of president, City supporters have been quick to resurface the interview with Khaldoon as a reminder of Tebas’ conduct towards the club in the past.
Here’s how they went to war on Twitter.
Don’t mess with Khladoon.
