After suffering an extensive injury crisis since the start of the season, losing key players such as Leroy Sane, Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ederson in quick succession, Manchester City supporters are delighted they at least have the latter returning to action.
The Brazilian shot-stopper has been a key figure for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this season, arguably being one of their best players alongside Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero, so it’s absolutely no surprise that fans are ecstatic that he is back in first team training ahead of a crucial encounter with Chelsea at the Etihad.
Do Man City need to sign a CB to win the league?
City had to make do without Ederson for their trip to league leaders Liverpool, with polarising figure Claudio Bravo stepping in as his replacement and partly at fault for their opening goal when he failed to stop a Fabinho drive in the opening ten minutes.
Now, with Frank Lampard’s flying Chelsea team awaiting City next in the league, it’s a possibility that Ederson could be fit for the encounter – a huge relief given the goalscoring form of Tammy Abraham.
Here’s how the fans reacted on Twitter to, at last, some positive news regarding fitness.
A sigh of relief

I’ve never appreciated Ederson more after the last few games of Bravo

I’m the happiest City fan right now. To be honest I would have preferred a half fit Ederson to Bravo in that Liverpool match.
