According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, the Sky Blues have offered to refund match-going fans who don’t feel happy about attending the Real Madrid clash due to the outbreak of coronavirus – with many supporters since discussing the gesture online.
Pep Guardiola’s side take on Real Madrid for a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next week, leading 2-1 from their first leg at the Bernabeu courtesy of a memorable performance, becoming only the third English team to win on that ground (Arsenal, Liverpool, City).
With the second half of the tie fast approaching, due to the outbreak of coronavirus, what should have been a memorable occasion has now been thrown into a safety debate – with the club now offering to refund supporters who don’t feel safe attending the match. While this could be perceived as a generous gesture, that hasn’t stopped fans from debating the notion on Twitter – but one of them did say that this highlights ‘exactly why we are different class‘.

As a diabetic and over 60 I’m concerned about attending games.
I’m a season card holder and I have my ticket for the RM game but my health comes first.
