Manchester City: Fans discuss Lyon president’s title solution that could hand Sky Blues Premier League title

Responding to a tweet by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, claiming that some experts proposed a solution where teams with the best average historical finishing positions would be crowned champions, many City fans have been in full discussion over a method that would hand Pep Guardiola’s side the title.
Despite sitting 25 points behind current league leaders Liverpool, president Aulas suggested in his tweet that some experts have proposed rewarding teams with the best average historical finishing positions over the last three or five years – a method that would unceremoniously hand City their third successive league title. Guardiola’s men have failed to replicate their 2018/2019 title-winning form this season, but this measure would reward them with a Premier League crown regardless.
Despite the positive outcome of such a scenario, many City fans have still debated the suggestion – with one fan suggesting ‘the meltdown on Merseyside would be brilliant‘. Find all of their best comments down below.

I would hate being given a title like this.

As a city supporter I can genuinely say this is awful. Rather void the season

Great idea, seems fair to me 😂

Most logical solution

Stupid idea but I have to disagree with the line about how LFC completely deserve the title. I’m sorry they don’t. Until they won the specific number of games needed they don’t deserve anything.
