According to a report from the Daily Mirror via Man City Xtra, assistant manager Mikel Arteta will raid Manchester City’s backroom staff for Rodolfo Borrell if he manages to secure the vacant managerial role at Arsenal – with City supporters ultimately dismissing the rumour.
It has been reported that Arteta could also turn to Domenec Torrent, who was previously a part of Pep Guardiola’s team.
Would Lautaro Martinez be the perfect Sergio Aguero replacement?
Arteta has been linked with a switch to the Gunners after Unai Emery was dismissed from his role as manager, prompting the Mirror report which indicates the Spaniard will be looking to poach key members of the Sky Blues’ backroom staff ahead of a potential switch.
The ex-Arsenal midfielder amassed 150 appearances at the Emirates Stadium during his playing days, scoring 16 goals and assisting 11 others, as per Transfermarkt – going on to become a key understudy to City boss Guardiola during an extremely successful last two seasons. In that time, he has won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and an FA Cup.
However, some Sky Blues supporters have dismissed claims he is after Torrent and Borrell – here’s what they had to say.

Domenec Torrent is unemployed. He’d be raiding the job centre for him.
