Kyle Walker has missed out on the most recent international call-ups, but he’s been an England full-back for an astonishing eight years.
The Manchester City defender, who has helped the team to seven trophies in his last two seasons, has been out of Gareth Southgate’s favour for the last few England international matches – with the likes of Ben Chilwell and Trent Alexander-Arnold getting the nod over him.
Despite this, Walker has celebrated a significant milestone in his career thus far, with it being eight years since he made his debut for the Three Lions against Spain in 2011.
You’d be forgiven for thinking that the 29-year-old hasn’t been on the scene for that long, but with time flying as fast as it does, City supporters have flocked to congratulate the defender on such a great achievement.
He replaced Scott Parker in the 85th minute during the national side’s 1-0 victory over the Spaniards, a match where Frank Lampard scored the winning goal, with fans getting nostalgic and rolling back the years.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
